Questions
Questions people ask
How much is a breast lift in Ireland?
Our price guide puts a breast lift (mastopexy) at €6,000 to €8,100. With implants at the same time it starts from about €9,500. The price normally includes the surgeon, the hospital, the anaesthetic and the check-ups.
What is the difference between a breast lift and a breast uplift?
Nothing: they're two names for the same operation, mastopexy. It removes loose skin, reshapes the breast and moves the nipple higher. It doesn't make the breasts bigger on its own.
How long is recovery from a breast lift?
Most people take at least two weeks off work, wear a support bra day and night for the first weeks, and avoid lifting and strenuous exercise, including swimming, for about a month. Scars fade over a year or more.
Will I have scars?
Yes. Every breast lift leaves scars: around the areola, usually down to the crease under the breast, and sometimes along the crease. They fade but don't disappear. Normal bras and bikini tops usually cover them.
Can I breastfeed after a breast lift?
Breastfeeding is usually still possible after a breast lift, but some women make less milk afterwards, and a few find they can't breastfeed at all.
Does health insurance pay for a breast lift?
Health insurance plans normally exclude cosmetic surgery, except to correct disfigurement from a condition you were born with, an accident or a disease. A breast lift for appearance is almost never covered. Check your own policy before anything is booked.
Who will contact me?
One clinic, not five. We pass your enquiry to one Irish clinic, and they contact you to arrange a consultation with a surgeon. Nothing is booked until you say yes.
